$20 For Seven Grams Of Marijuana At Participating Oregon Dispensaries On ‘Green Friday’

I have never went out shopping on Black Friday. I have gone out to get food, like any other day, but I have never sat in line for deals or woke up early to get to stores when they open. I don’t need a new television every year. Plus I don’t like shopping at huge box stores the day after Thanksgiving, or really any day for that matter. I prefer to keep it local.

This is the first Black Friday since legal recreational marijuana sales started in Oregon.Oregon’s Cannabis Concierge and the CO2 Company have teamed up with OG Analytical to do something new in Oregon – Green Friday. The concept behind Green Friday is very straight forward. Essentially, 50 Oregon growers have pooled together a total of 100 pounds. Those pounds will be distributed to dispensaries all over Oregon that will sell seven grams for $20. When the Green Friday quarters run out, they are out. Below are FAQ’s about the Green Friday effort, via the event’s website:

Q: What’s a “Green Friday”?

A: It’s like the “Black Friday” sales, but for cannabis. On Friday Nov. 27th, about 25 dispensaries around the state are going to be selling quarter ounces from Southern Oregon for $20. Each quarter will be packaged in a glass jar, and comes with a directory of all the participating farmers. As with all cannabis sold in Oregon, it will be lab tested for potency, and screened for pesticides, molds, etc. Thanks to our always awesome lab partner, OG Analytical.

Q: Wait, $20 for a Quarter ounce? I’ll take 3 pounds, please.

A: Sorry, as with all Adult Use cannabis purchases in Oregon, you will need to be 21 and over with ID, and you are limited to a quarter ounce purchase per day. OMMP cardholders are limited to one quarter of Green Friday flower, but can purchase additional products from the Dispensary.

Q: Is this schwag? I don’t smoke schwag, man.

A: I hear you, and no, it’s a curated collection of Southern Oregon ecofriendly cannabis. We’ve partnered up with 50 farms, and they are sending up a wide variety of strains and types of flower. Sun grown cannabis is fantastic, and we wanted to showcase it with this year’s kick off of Green Friday.

Q: Do I buy a ticket? Make a reservation?

A: The participating dispensaries have been allocated 2 pounds each, which equals 128 quarters per dispensary. When they sell out, that’s it. Find a dispensary near you, (we’ve listed them here) and arrive early. But not too early. Sleeping overnight on Thanksgiving night, on the sidewalk, to obtain a deeply discounted quarter isn’t the best call, on several levels. And to avoid Black Fridaystyle bad manners, be cool. No cuts, pushing, etc. You know how to behave, so behave.

Q: I still have questions.

A: Excellent, Seeker of Knowledge! Send them to Josh here at info@greenfridaypdx.com

I am so jealous. One day here in New Jersey this will happen. I mean, DAMN, 20$ a quarter?!!

    • Bongstar420

Its in house. Basically, the dispensary gets almost the same as a grower would get selling to a dispensary by growing their own.

Plus, it is almost certainly not connoisseur grade.

      • exbioman

Better than smoking/vaping synthetics or the dirtweed prominent ’round here in this prohibitionist state.

        • Bob Tox

Does do the synthetics not get you hard? I usually trust the guy at the gas station. You get three or four in there it gets sort of trashy.

      • Bob Tox

It’s not prohibition yet! You will no when it’s prohibition when I say
let’s quit smoking marijuana and make everyone else quit too. There
will marijuana places that are not letting you in. Boats that have left
the harbor. At some point the marijuana will begin again. The
marijuana will be under strict control. Only the police will sell you
        marijuana.

        • jasen joseph hylbert

In a way the police have been selling people marijuana for decades. I like to refer to it as the rebellion of the beaurocrats… What it amounts to is a bunch of insecure doughnut eaters panhandling.

          • jasen joseph hylbert

Of course, rebellion of beaurocrats is idiocy and chaos. Some day law enforcement will attract quality employees only – some police are real police who do not enforce unconstitutional laws. Busting people who are actually evading regular income taxes is another matter and not illegal.

    • jasen joseph hylbert

Cannabis is a very very easy to grow plant. People have been getting ripped off for a long time and been paying sin tax prices. Now people may start to get ripped off to a lesser extent, however prices have a long way down to go before herbal cannabis use can start significantly replacing commercial cigarette use, alcoholic beverage use, and drug pill use. Children are eating cardboard because of high herbal cannabis prices.

    • Bob Tox

How about $19 for a 7/32? Put a little in my hand for ten dollars.

  • moses

Oh, yeah baby, that makes me feel very good, almost like wood. I wish it was everywhere, that would be good. Its what are leaders, need to do , to continue, canabis your time has come, you are an issue. They cant dismiss,
    If they want to continue.

  • CJ MACINTOSH

    Not so fast :
There is the Denver man who, hours after buying a package of marijuana-infused Karma Kandy from one of Colorado’s new recreational marijuana shops, began raving about the end of the world and then pulled a handgun from the family safe and killed his wife, the authorities say. Some hospital officials say they are treating growing numbers of children and adults sickened by potent doses of edible marijuana. Sheriffs in neighboring states complain about stoned drivers streaming out of Colorado and through their towns.

“I think, by any measure, the experience of Colorado has not been a good one unless you’re in the marijuana business,” said Kevin A. Sabet, executive director of Smart Approaches to Marijuana, which opposes legalization. “We’ve seen lives damaged. We’ve seen deaths directly attributed to marijuana legalization. We’ve seen marijuana slipping through Colorado’s borders. We’ve seen marijuana getting into the hands of kids.”

    • onuorous lamis

      You are full of shit!
Do all the people in your church lie and hurt people?
You will suffer for this little indiscretion. Prepare for my wrath heathen!

      • jasen joseph hylbert

I am not religious and have never been sincerely religious (though I pretended to be for awhile to avoid being imprisoned based on false charges brought avainst me in the wake of being assaulted by backward hicks dressed as police in the lawless and inbred regions of rural illinois – yes it is that bad in the inbred regions of rural illinois), but I am wondering what religious sect this CJ Macintosh is a part of…. I know some are far worse than others… If someone can tell me what sect these horrible terrorists belong to it would help things a lot.

    • jasen joseph hylbert

Are these ludacris anti – herbal cannabis propaganda posts just being put up in an attempt to lower the standard of what ought to be considered as legitimate input into the conversation? I am not even going to honour that nonsense with a response or unwarranted acknowledgement and I invite others to reckognize it for the desperate nonsencical attempts at skewing the conversation that it is. There is real danger that some naive folk may actually believe these blatant deceptive examples of misinformation as truth and thus all of herbal cannabis culture would continue to be subjected to discrimination and a lack of respect. The anti – herbal cannabis quotes of this “C.J. Macintosh” character ought to be categorized as convoluted fiction which requires a skeptical approach to avoid misleading people.

      • Bob Tox

Sell sandwiches outside a bar on Christmas when handed out someone else’s inventory in high hopes of appreciation.

When the guy start yelling where is my marijuana and they complaint that you are not the marijuana. You are the bad man across the counter with this marijuana. And you say something to the girl working there and she starts to cry. If you just make everything illegal the problems go away.

        • jasen joseph hylbert

What on earth are you talking about? Are you in agreement with me about unrestricted hemp growth and unrestricted self provision of cannabis being the only patriotic and logical options? The fact is that a situation which includes any restrictions on cannabis has been and will continue to produce generally higher rates of hunger and warfare unless all restrictions on cannabis are lifted. There is nothing clever about the corrupt system of cannabis restrictions and pretending it is clever would reveal the low level of thinking of the prohibitionists/ restricters of cannabis.

    • jasen joseph hylbert

ATTENTION – the above words of “CJ Macintosh” are of a particular dialect best described as dialogue skewing convoluted fiction. Please do not take the words of “CJ Macintosh” regarding herbal cannabis in Colorado literally, as doing so would tend to make one draw very misleading conclusions. Price gouging prohibition/ restriction dependant cartel members sometimes feel desperate enough to slander their own products in attempts at keeping in place restrictions on self provision that they fear would put free market pressures on them which would perhaps greatly reduce some of their profits. Sometimes they just try to confuse matters to slow down the lifting of u constitutional restrictions which they feel as though they need. To give folks an idea of how fearful and desperate some of the pot cartel people are, they have gone so far as to hire some schill to place a ban on industrial hemp based based on misinformation. They are some of the ones who are responsible for restrictions on self provision of herba cannabis for us the masses. While the vast majority of self provided or commercially grown cannabis would not be impacted whatsoever by hemp pollen, some folks who want to price gouge herbal cannabis users while maintaining a zero overhead situation are terrified by the prospect of having to deal with a handful of unvaluable seeds per pound of herbal cannabis. Some seeds from cross pollination would yield new high thc varieties, but these cartel types have become so comfortable with the status quo of having a system of intense restrictions centered around maximizing the profits of them the very few that they will literally slander their own herbal cannabis culture and stand in the way of resource efficient food fuel and fiber production just to desperatly attempt to maintain their corrupt status quo regarding herbal cannabis. Much of what these speakers of a dialect based on skewing the cannabis dialogue value is the feeling of being the hip and needed providers to the large swath of the population who consumes herbal cannabis, as they are really not in dire straights financially (as is evidenced by their hiring of a lobbyist to ban industrial hemp in Oregon state). What many of us who the anti hemp pot cartel types have been lording over are learning more and more every day is that it is those anti hemp cartel types are the ones to blame for the lack of respect that herbal cannabis is subjected to, the restrictions on self provision, the sin tax style high prices, the damage to the currencies of many western nations done by the exclusion of industrial hemp, and the ecological damage done to our aquifers and farmlands which future generations will depend on for sustainance by the exclusion of industrial hemp. I reiterate – interpret the convoluted speech of the anti hemp cartel types such as “CJ Macintosh” as the dialogue skewing attempts that they are and do not take them as literal communications. Thank you.

      • Bob Tox

The medical industry? I don’t think they like the idea of the rehab getting paid for by healthcare. Rehab does not pay well and is very unionized.

Starting is a rehab is not difficult. Anyone can work there. I don’t think anyone needs to. But then you know is does pay OK. People do price these things out because some of the bill can come out of pocket.

I would do a online rehab. That way you don’t have to pay someone who isn’t doing anything. Someone comes in they are ask a few questions. You give them something to read.

        • Bob Tox

If you are saying that the industry is open, it does come round. It can gather a few people regardless. It’s kind of an invitation or the lack of a thanks but no thanks.

          • Bob Tox

It’s not like the marijuana isn’t medical or anything. It is. That’s weird that you are this enthusiastic about going to rehab.

          • Bob Tox

Evidence based medicine has fewer enemies. Relapsing like blinking your eyes is entirely possible. When you combine the two it’s like the real world only sicker.

          • jasen joseph hylbert

You ought to try boiling herbal cannabis in cream for several minutes then letting it cool and then drinking it. I think you may decide that you prefer the effects of herbal cannabis when taken this way. You need not be a segregationist who tells masses of poverty stricken people who live amongst cows to starve rather than eat beef to enjoy taking herbal cannabis by boiling it with cream.

        • jasen joseph hylbert

Rehab for herbal cannabis is a joke. My guess is that it was a concept made up by insecure drunks and caffiene addicts who are jealous of the culture of herbal cannabis loyalists, as well as by economic parasites who make up lie based ideas for stealing money from the rest of society.

      • CJ MACINTOSH

It is always funny to me when an article that posts something negative about Marijuana–even ones from research from top Universities–that you STILL will have people dismiss it.

They will think of EVERYTHING—and make up something that they think in their mind dismisses facts. It is truly unbelievable.

I have always been someone who respects science, I can identify solid, accurate studies and research. A study is solid through and through and has been backed by multiple centers with a large number of patients and reviewed by peers before publication. You cannot dismiss that as bogus.

The Internet’s being manipulated by ones who are going to profit Billions of dollars from legalization marijuana !

        • jasen joseph hylbert

What is your opinion on industrial hemp, “CJ Macintosh”? Do you at least acknowledge the fact that industrial hemp is a needed crop to reduce irrigation demands and reduce demands for herbicide applications along with acting as a catch crop and a particularly healthy food for humans livestock and wildlife? Do you acknowledge that hemp products could be an export instead of an import which would help our currency’s value? Do you acknowledge that hemp food can help reduce starvation in the world and provide clothing much more efficiently and with far less agricultural chemical inputs than cotton?

Even if you do sincerely believe what you say about herbal cannabis, which I doubt, would you at least concede that herbal cannabis self provision in the western world and the decreased demand that would come with it would stand to effectively take away a lot of funding from terrorist groups? Is not taking away funding from anti American terrorist groups a high priority? Wouldn’t high rates of self provision of cannabis stand to conserve a lot of transportation resources which could then be used for things which simply cannot be self provided by the masses? Do you really think that you can reduce rates of herbal cannabis use, and if so would you want to when you consider that alcoholic beverage consumers and commercial cigarette smokers switching to herbal cannabis would raise health levels?

          • CJ MACINTOSH

            Monsanto enough said

  • Bongstar420

LOL….If they pay me $20, I will consume it instead of the stuff I grew myself.

Schwag only referes to the quality. “ecofriendly” or “curated collection” doesn’t mean “not schwag”

Honestly, I wouldn’t consume 50% of whats on the market. But I guess I’m just a millionaire snob or something.

Finally, it is outdoor or greenhouse. Ask these people to do this with their best indoor stuff….then we can act like its a good deal.

I mean jeese..If I was a property owner and hired a bunch of lackeys to do all of my work and invested much less money than indoor growers, I’d be down to let a bunch of people sell my mids for $80/oz

  • Bob Tox

You know I can hear that but I like lost. I smoked the sixties. Everyone smoking in college. It was pretty cheap back then.

  • jasen joseph hylbert

The white collar crime which is the artificial scarcity dependant price gouging of cannabis consumers while entrapping and imprisoning amd terrorizing people made to be patsies causes warfare, environmental degradation and hunger.

  • jasen joseph hylbert

Is this “Green Friday” “sale priced” cannabis being sold by the cartels against hemp? If so I suggest boycotting them.

Anyone sincere about wanting people to enjoy the freedom which is the access to herbal cannabis would be advocating for unlimited self provision. If the price of your product is bolstered by a cop enforcing self provision limits on herbal cannabis, then selling at lower prices is the least you can do.

One of these cartels in s oregon has a fricken golf event advertised on thier website. I would not trust an eco – friendly label or an organic label put on a product by a golfer. Golf is the most wasteful and poisonous land use acre per acre imaginable. By golfing, hateful class warfare types are basically insulting those stranded in dense housing and hurt by high food prices.

There are plenty of providers who do not want to put bans on hemp. Not contributing to the cartels who put bans on hemo and limit self provision wil tend to keep food prices down in the long run.
