Let’s face it, stoners (especially me) don’t like to work, but we do it because we have to pay the bills, right? While I was at my crappy office job today, I spent a little while reminiscing of previous jobs I’ve had that were much more stoner-friendly. Oregon Cannabis Tax Act relying on volunteers to gather signatures to put legalization of marijuana on the November 2010 ballot

This was just forwarded to me from Jennifer Alexander at Oregon NORML. A volunteer group in Oregon is working to gather the signatures necessary to get the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act on the ballot for the November 2010 election. 82,769 valid signatures are required to be submitted to the Secretary of State by July 2, in order to qualify for the November election. A Battle Creek man, who uses marijuana for medicinal purposes, is suing Wal-Mart for firing him after he injured himself at work, received treatment and tested positive for marijuana during a drug test. The lawsuit was filed in Calhoun County Circuit Court today by the American Civil Liberties Union, in partnership with a law firm, on behalf of Joseph Casias, 30, who has an inoperable brain tumor and is in remission for sinus cancer, and uses marijuana to alleviate his pain. Recently in California there have two killings in L.A based dispensaries. In one case two people walked in performing a routine robbery but still killed one individual and maimed the other. In the other robbery, the owner walked in to find his employee stabbed to death. As much as I hate conspiracy theories this all smells kind of funky to me. A couple of months before the Oregon primary, a funny thing happened. Ninjasmoker received a Facebook request from Oregon Republican candidate Chris Dudley.
