prison swiss smoking inmates marijuanaBy TheJointBlog.Com

new study published by the International Journal of Drug Policy has found that as many as 80% of inmates in Swiss prisons consume cannabis, something that prison staff is fully aware of, with most feeling that it has a positive effect on the overall prison environment.

According to the study, prisoners named off a variety of benefits they received from consuming cannabis; “Participants showed similar opinions on effects of cannabis use that were described both at individual and institutional levels: analgesic, calming, self-help to go through the prison experience, relieve stress, facilitate sleep, prevent violence, and social pacifier.”

Prison staff claimed that they feel cannabis to be a relatively safe and peaceful drug; they believe that cracking down on its consumption will lead to an increase in violence, and harder drugs.

In Switzerland cannabis consumption is less of a criminal priority than in countries like the United States, although it’s still explicitly prohibited.

This study is one of the first to show the positive benefits of inmates consuming cannabis on a regular basis.

Kevin, do you look at heterosexual porn, from your “ewwww” comment which is homophobic it is clear you do. Think about this, when you watch “normal porn” look watch a guys penis being sucked and going in and out of a woman where ever it will fit, then you watch his penis squirt. There is a homosexual component to everyday porn. I am sure you are now a little confused about your homosexuality. Think about this next you pleasure yourself to internet porn. Good Day.

College kid receives jail time for marijuana and gets raped

On June 6, 2003, a 19-year-old Alachua County, Florida, college student was raped by his cellmate as he served the first of four weekend sentences for delivering marijuana, a felony offense. (The student’s name has not been released.) He had been placed in a cell with a violent offender who had been in the county jail for 11 months awaiting trial on sexual battery charges.

The two men were sharing a cell because the jail was overcrowded. Typically, inmates are classified according to offense, criminal history, gender, and/or age, among other factors, when assigned to their cells. Because certain offenders need to be isolated for safety reasons, a jail’s capacity is in reality much lower than the number of beds it houses.

While the Alachua County jail could theoretically hold 920 inmates, in reality it could only accommodate an average of 782 inmates on any given day because of the need to separate certain offenders. On the day the collegestudent was raped, the jail contained 918 inmates, far exceeding capacity. Such overcrowding had been typical in the jail since 1998.

Though the two men would normally have been separated, they were grouped together because delivering marijuana and sexual battery are both considered felonies. According to Alachua County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jim Troiano, “If there was space available, absolutely we would rather keep the weekenders in a pre-designated area. But because we don’t have much space available we have to do with circumstances on hand.”

I am the student that was raped, it was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I did bite his dick in half after the 1st rape while he was attempting the 2nd. Why is it not mentioned he was rushed to the hospital from the bleeding. I am in therapy for this as we speak.

Some screws knew about people smoking dope in British prisons back in 1980 and probably earlier. One screw said to me they prefer guys smoked dope than drunk hooch because it made everyone’s life easier. The trouble was that some turned a blind eye while others did not.

They are very smart for letting them use pot in prison, if everyone is stoned then no one will be violent, unless you attempt to deprive them of food, then you might have a full scale riot on your hands, but a peaceful one :P

Please help the ‘Silents’ demographic of tobacco smokers. Even after unequivocal evidence, they still are opposed to Med Mj by a ratio of 68% (against) to 32% (for) C=>http://bit.ly/LucyDesiWeed
