Americans For Safe AccessBy Steph Sherer, Americans For Safe Access

Since the Obama Administration began taking a hard-line stance against medical cannabis access, patients, caregivers and the institutions that help them have been faced with increasing harassment from federal law enforcement. As the election approaches, Americans for Safe Access (ASA) and patients are fighting to have our perspective heard in the national dialogue over the future of America.

From protests to lawsuits, ASA and other organizations are not taking these attacks lying down. We wanted to have a fun and easy way for medical cannabis advocates to plug in to this national movement and amplify our voices by working together.

That’s why we have created Camp WakeUpObama – a virtual, online summer camp with activist activities and opportunities to earn T-shirts, merit badges, and even a trip to our national conference in Washington, DC.

Your camp counselor is our new National Field Director, Hunter Holliman. Hunter comes to us as an active member of the San Francisco ASA chapter, with years of experience organizing the fight for medical cannabis access. Hunter will work with our chapters and activist groups across the country to support their activities, helping your communities gain and maintain safe access at the local and state level, while coordinating our national presence and ensuring local groups have the resources they need to be successful.

Hunter will be a fantastic help for you and your community, and I could not be more excited to have him on board. As the Camp WakeUpObama counselor, he’s going to help you complete fun activities and track your progress so you can earn your prizes and share them with your friends.

Join me, Hunter, and activists across the country in fun and meaningful activities that will keep our issue at the forefront of the national debate – sign up for Camp WakeUpObama today!
