national cannabis industry association ncia arizonaEver since cannabis was legalized in Washington and Colorado during the 2012 Election, I have been getting more and more questions from people asking how they can learn more about getting into the cannabis industry. The questions come from potential investors, inventors, aspiring growers, attorneys, chefs, and people that just want to land a job in America’s next great industry. While I try to offer up my advice as time allows, I always suggest to these people that they should attend an industry event, as it will provide unparalleled opportunities to learn and network with other like-minded people.

The best industry event I have ever attended was the day after Election Day in November of 2012 in Denver. The event was hosted by MMJ Business Daily and sponsored by the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA). I had never seen so many cannabis industry experts and leaders in one place before. I had been to industry events that had one or two speakers that were on par with the participants of this November 2012 event. However, this particular event had hundreds of industry experts and leaders in attendance, many of which spoke on panels about every topic imaginable. The networking I did at that event was so valuable that it will likely benefit me the rest of my life.

Fortunately for TWB readers, the National Cannabis Industry Association is hosting another event in Denver June 24-25. If you are trying to get into the emerging cannabis industry, or if you are already a member of the industry and want to network with industry leaders, this is an amazing opportunity and I strongly urge you to attend the 2014 National Cannabis Industry Association’s Cannabis Business Summit. There is no other place in America that is as exciting as Denver right now when it comes to cannabis, which is an added bonus to attending the event.

The list of speakers at the 2014 National Cannabis Industry Association’s Cannabis Business Summit is like a who’s who of the cannabis industry. Speakers include such experts as Aaron Smith from NCIA, Steve DeAngelo from Harborside Health Center, cultivation legend Ed Rosenthal, and two of my biggest heroes Justin Hartfield from WeedMaps and Troy Dayton from the ArcView Group. These people have been tremendously successful in the cannabis industry, and everyone can benefit from their knowledge and experience.

There are numerous panels and presentations planned at the 2014 National Cannabis Industry Association’s Cannabis Business Summit, covering every sector of the cannabis industry from operating a dispensary to designing an industrial cannabis garden, and everything in between. If you have an idea that you are trying to find an investor for, there is no better place to find one than at this event. On the flip side, if you are an investor looking to find the next great idea in the cannabis industry, this event is a great place to network with entrepreneurs and inventors. Some of the ideas I saw at the 2012 event blew my mind, and have since emerged as some of the top products and services in the industry.
