a) The International Anti-Doping Agency does not exist. Perhaps this is why they did not contact you. Do you mean the world anti-doping agency (WADA)

b) Michael Phelps did not receive a suspension from USADA or WADA as your article seems to imply. His suspension was from USA Swimming and had nothing to do with marijuana being a performance enhancing drug. In fact USA Swimming released the following statement.

“This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people…….”

c) Would you want an archery athlete, biathlon athlete, or a shooting athlete to be high on marijuana in the lane next to you. Probably not a good thing and can hurt other competitors. Anti-doping organizations like WADA have goals of protecting athletes with all issues having to do with substances. Its not only about running higher and jumping farther

I thought your comments concerning marijuana and its non-effects on enhancing athletic performance were quite apposite.

However, I wish you could have presented them in black and white, instead of the nearly unreadable white on black (usually referred to as “reverse”).

Exhaustive research on readability conducted by the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (which, believe me, really CARED about readability, established that reverse text set in ordinary-size newspaper or magazine type reduced readership by 30-40%, and the longer the text was, the more readership dropped off.

Just check the paragraph that starts “From what I could dig up…” It’s easy to see that certain letters tend to be especially shaky… notably r, n h, p, and l, and there are probably others.

I am working on a major piece about the hypocrisy of the “Anti-Doping Movement,” and
would like to have your excellent post, but it’s not much use to me in reverse.

I think we all can agree that we hate taxes and I’m not going to try to justify taxes. Taxing cannabis seems unavoidable, however, I do believe there should be a distinction between medical and recreational.

TAXING POT PATIENTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE BUREAUCRACY IS MADNESS. IF THE POLICE WOULD JUST STOP BUSTING PEOPLE, WE WOULD SAVE A HELL OF A LOT MORE MONEY THAN WOULD BE RAISED BY TAXES.

And with a tax we could really turn our economy around, and i happen to know that as soon as more people are willing to accept that the sooner it will be legal.at that point its up to us to make sure the tax is fair and just or we might have another revolution on our hands… and trust me ill be up there on the front lines to help out in anyway i can

The only taxes that should be occured is The companys profit, just like any business. The workers income tax and the regular sales tax.

I feel that the special tax will be turned into a Moral Tax, that could climb exsorbantly.

Well i just left HIGH school about 3 months ago, my soundtrack is not what everyone else was listening to. Any Beatles song was in, same with most songs from the musical HAIR (only the original cast recording, i dont like the movie or the new casts rendition). and songs from REEFER MADNESS! throw a little eminem, some who and a little dyan into the mix…best songs in the world to jam out to while passing a pipe back and forth in my besties little neon. high school well spent!

That’s 8.2% of whites and 10.1% of blacks using illicit drugs. Now look at the incarceration statistics:

(2007 – incarceration rate by race) “The custody incarceration rate for black males was 4,618 per 100,000.
while the incarceration rate of white males was 773 per 100,000.

This means that there are at least 5 times more blacks incarcerated for drug offenses than should be expected. This is clearly a gross injustice!

Whatever the exact dynamics involved, these horrific racial disparities are a direct result of drug-prohibition and are quite clearly unacceptable. This moronothon has done nothing but breed generations of incarcerated and disenfranchised Afro Americans and any citizen not doing their utmost to help reverse this perverse injustice may duly hang their head in shame.
