The story of Jeff Mizanskey is heartbreaking. Jeff has been sitting in a prison cell for over twenty years for marijuana only offenses. To make matters worse, the twenty years he has already served is just a portion of a life sentence. That’s right, a life sentence for marijuana only offenses. Not for violent offenses, not for sexual offenses – marijuana only offenses. Missouri’s Governor has recently stated that he will review Mr. Mizanskey’s case before he leaves office, but that means a review could still take a couple of years. That’s unacceptable.

Jeff Mizanskey needs to be freed now. He has served far more time in prison than he ever should have. No one should sit even one day in a prison cell for marijuana, let alone more than twenty years. The hardworking people at the Show-Me Cannabis campaign have been fighting very hard for Jeff Mizanskey’s release. Below is a video that they created highlighting Jeff Mizanskey. I want to give a special shout out to Spencer Pearson for posting the video to YouTube. Spencer and another hardworking activist Laurien Rose have a podcast called ‘Bowl After Bowl.’ You should check it out if you are into podcasts and support these hardworking activists in Missouri:

this is heartbreaking and frankly something that we as americans should be above, regardless of jeff receiving clemency the government has stolen 21 years from this man and his family, the average rape sentence is 5-10 years and this man has doubled that for possessing a harmless natural remedy, the judge prosecution and jury who put him in prison should be ashamed of themselves and if I had it my way each one of them and their families should be lining up to serve a 21 plus year jail term.

Indeed, the warriors of the war on drugs should be considered war criminals. They deserve harsh penalties. Mostly for personal gain and agendas, they close their eyes to “collateral damage” like this.

I hope that, after legalization, there will also be an initiative to investigate who have been most responsible for such this war, and to bring them to justice.

It’s such bullshit that any politician and one that has the power to make a big difference is to fucking chicken to look at this case. This is absolutely sickening. Doing life for a Marijuana offences is an injustices. A person could rape a 8yr old and get less time.what is wrong with our courts, our laws and our politicians? Not to mention the blind fools on the jury who sentence him.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR GOV. NIXON AGAIN! I DO NOT CARE IF HE RUNS FOR DOG CATCHER! HE WILL NEVER GET MY VOTE AGAIN! I would be afraid to meet my maker as NIXon has been given every opportunity to release this man, While his OWN SON WAS ARRESTED AND “THAT WAS A FAMILY MATTER!” MAY GOD FORGIVE HIM!

Funny how politics work and US laws contradict towards what we believe as the people the back bone of why the system works. For this instance Christianity in the united states in god we trust right hand over the book huh no lies to jury but what I don’t understand is that at the end of a discussion it is a seedling that promotes fruit! Therefore my opinion and right should be to consume it. We already legalized the worst of drugs or the industry is scared of its medical properties with hardly any bad reactions resulting from it. Its to consume! hemp was the backbone of this country back then! Why such a change in heart. $$$ Politics. System runs on greed!
