Two powerhouse cannabis community collaborators, The World Famous Cannabis Café and SKUNK Magazine have joined forces again to raise money to help another family in need and new Oregonian, Lindsey Rinehart. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 7:00 pm, the World Famous Cannabis Café will host a fund raiser to help the Rineharts with their relocation to Oregon. Madeline Martinez, café owner tells us, “I am honored that John Vergados from SKUNK Magazine reached out to me to help this courageous family. It will be a fun evening of great food, great music, amazing raffles and a surprise or two!”

Lindsey is a medical cannabis refugee from Idaho. She uses cannabis to ease the symptoms of multiple sclerosis; Rinehart and her husband, Josh are highly visible cannabis activists from their work with NORML, Americans for Safe Access and Moms for Marijuana. Her children were taken by Idaho’s Child Protective Services because of her choice to use medical cannabis and her activism. She has come to Oregon to seek sanctuary and start a new life for her family. Josh and Lindsey continue their battle with the state of Idaho to have their names removed from the child endangerment registry. “The generous response from the community with donations for the raffles has been amazing, as always,” reports John Vergados, Editor of SKUNK Magazine. “I know that the World Famous Cannabis Café and Madeline will take good care of the Rineharts. Our fund raiser for Brave Mykayla was a night I will never forget.”
