WHAT WE’LL NEED:
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half & half or cream
4 grams cannabis
5 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
5 tablespoons sugar

pinch of salt

pinch of cinnamon

coffee filter and string

DIRECTIONS
Combine the milk, sugar and salt in a saucepan on medium heat. Finely chop the cannabis and add it to the center of the coffee filter. Gather up the edges of the coffee filter and tie it up with string, creating a pouch-like-tea bag. Once the salt and sugar has dissolved, add the half and half, cinnamon, vanilla and your cannabis tea pouch. Heat to just under boiling then lower the heat and let cannabis simmer for 25 minutes. Once cannabis has simmered, squeeze the excess and remove the tea bag and add the chocolate. Turn the heat off and stir until the chocolate has melted. Serve in a mug and top with whipped cream, orange zest or stick to the classical miniature marshmallows. Makes 2 cups of Hot Pot Chocolate.

NOTES

  • For every 8 ounces of milk, whole milk contains 8 grams of fat, 2% milk contains 5 grams of fat, 1% contains 2.5 grams of fat, and skim milk contains no fat. THC bonds to fat so be sure to use WHOLE MILK.
  • Do not confuse hot cocoa and hot chocolate. While hot cocoa is made from cocoa powder, it lacks the fat of cocoa butter; hot chocolate, however, is made from chocolate bars melted into cream. Unsweetened chocolate is also called baking or bitter chocolate, you could substitute with semi-sweet chocolate, but leave the vanilla out if you do.
