Melissa Etheridge Is Starting A Line Of Cannabis Infused Wines

I have been a fan of Melissa Etheridge for a long time now. I’m not referring to her music, which is good. I’m referring to her as a person. Melissa Etheridge has been a long time supporter of marijuana reform, way before it was fashionable to do so. She is a cancer survivor, and frequently attests to marijuana’s medical value and how it helped her battle cancer. So I was very happy when I heard that Melissa is starting a line of cannabis infused wines. I’m not a fan of wine, but if you are, I strongly encourage you to buy her products and support someone who supports you. Per Marijuana.Com:

Etheridge wants to bring cannabis-infused wines and other products to states like California, New Hampshire and the other 21 states with medical cannabis laws. She explained in her Bloomberg interview that she wants to present cannabis in a non-threatening manner.

“I really look forward to bringing this to the world in a not scary way.” Etheridge said. “Not a drug outlaw way. It’s not that anymore. This is an American business that really needs a lot of help.”

Below is video footage of Melissa talking about medical marijuana and her industry aspirations:

Are there any states where alcohol and cannabis are allowed to be sold in the same store? I don’t think any of the medical marijuana states let dispensaries sell alcohol, and I don’t think the weed stores in Colorado or Washington are allowed to sell alcohol either. I think this is an interesting idea, but as far as I know the current laws wouldn’t allow it.

Washington probably could as they are unregulated. For that matter, California most likely could too. Probably not though in any of the other states with regulated dispensaries. Anyway, I’m curious so I’ll ask my attorney friend. He’ll probably know the answer.

      What about the Hooka bars?

They’re apparently still discussing these at city hall. That said, the cruise ships are gone now until next spring. They figure (probably correctly that locals can just go home to spark up. It’s my bet by early next spring we’ll see at least a few open in Downtown Seattle, most likely located close to Pike Place Market.

Hmmm. This will be an interesting product, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’ve been touting weed as a safer alternative to alcohol, and now there is a product with both. I’ll try it though, if it becomes available where I live. Gotta do it, right?

The Horror…..The Horror! What will my French cousins think of this? I just spent a week with them in Gigandas and Vaison-La- Romain in Provence, France. The locals were hand harvesting the vines. Great wine, fantastic cuisine, Roman ruins, Pot infused wine? Seriously though, I’m not sure how I feel about this

  • What does this do to the “cannabis is safer than alcohol” campaign? Alcohol kills 80,000 people a year in this country. What’s next, cannabis infused Marlboros? I don’t see anything good coming from this.

Don’t get me wrong I truly love Melissa Etheridge, her music and her personal attitude. I also consider myself a Lesbian, why you ask, because I love women. Her advocacies in MMJ from a celebrity is outstanding. We need more of them to come out in support. As we all know most use.
Hollywierd carries a great deal of political weight ($$$) in D.C. When they speak they listen as they carry a young vote of which almost all politician try to grab onto.
But with her new product you can get a D.W.I. and a D.U. I.D. all in the same traffic stop.

Have you guys never heard of getting a jump on the market before… the first to the production line often ends up the winner… I guarantee you this is a great product idea if she does it right and will eventually be legal and accepted in many locales.
