michigan marijuana legalization milegalizeThe MILegalize organization has issued a few reminders and encouragements to volunteers recently, most of which involve gathering signatures and returning petitions.

From MILegalize Chair, Jeff Hank:

With only a week left it’s now or never to get MILegalize on the ballot. Here is a list of events all over Michigan that will be great for getting the signatures we need!

We are in the final days of collecting and turning in all of our signatures and it is imperative that we get them in on time.

Mail all petitions to PO Box 4427, East Lansing, MI 48826 not later than Friday, May 27th.

We can pick up  petitions or you can deliver them to the hubs listed in the link all the way up to May 31st, but get them in sooner if you can!   www.milegalize.com/petition_locations

Longtime Michigan Democratic operative Bob Alexander encouraged people to return petitions and join the Dems:

Turn In Michigan Legalize petitions This Tursday and Next Tuesday     Also help build MI Coalition to Elect More Dems Nov. 8th

You and Your Friends can still collect and turn in crucial MI Legalize petition signatures!

Go Thru your desk, work table and stacks of important stuff.  Any MI Legalize petition signatures you find are still needed to meet the magic number of signatures!  Sign off on all the petitions you have if you are  not going to collect more signatures.

Any filled or partly filled signatures are valuable petitions!

The Drop Dead day to mail in all the petitions with signatures you have is this Thursday, May 26.  Do Not mail in any signatures on Fri, Sat, Sun orMonday.  They will arrive too late to be included in the MI Legalize Turn on late June 2, Tuesday afternoon.

To get new petitions or to walk in to turn-in petitions tomorrow thru Tuesday morning,  check the MILegalize.com website, and click the red balloons for offices.  About ten of the offices are still functioning.   If there is no office still open nearby, give Chris Silva a call at 616-893-8852 on how Chris can get petitions to you, and you can send or deliver petitions to Chris or an open office.

Board member Nick Zettell issued this statement earlier this week:

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and our volunteers are hitting the streets as hard as they ever have to gather signatures.  One week from today, the MI Legalize team will turn in 350,000 signatures to the Secretary of State.  We need your help to get there. We had a wildly successful rally last Friday where our volunteers alone brought in nearly 4,000 signatures on top of 315,000 we had to date.

We have been fighting an uphill battle since we began, and we are nearly to the summit.  We could never have done this without you, and we cannot get over the top of the mountain without your continued support during this final week.

ALL PETITIONS MUST BE MAILED BY FRIDAY MAY 27TH

Mail to  MI LEGALIZE    PO Box 4427       East Lansing, MI  44826
