Missouri Legislative Hearing For Regulation Of Marijuana (Video)

The Show-Me Cannabis campaign in Missouri is one of the strongest in the nation, especially considering that Missouri is not the most marijuana friendly state in the country. If Western or Northeastern states had as strong of a campaign as Missouri does, marijuana would have been legalized in those areas already (excluding Washington and Colorado obviously). The lobbyists working there are second to none, and the large amount of town halls Show-Me Cannabis has hosted is making a huge impact on the ground. Educating the public is a large part of marijuana reform, and Show-Me Cannabis does an outstanding job of that. Below is video footage from last night’s legislative hearing in Missouri dealing with HB 1659:

Woman at the end doesn’t know shit and just talking opinion. She couldn’t wait to get out of CO and I can’t wait till I get out of Missouri. So much ignorance in that room!

I don’t know if National Narcotics Officers Association Vice President Sgt. Jason Grellner is a perjurer or just plain dumb. Either way, his claim that California Medical Examiners are now listing marijuana intoxication as a cause of death is based on a fake claim from a satirical website called National Report. Here’s the link for Grellner’s “source”:http://nationalreport.net/marijuana-kills-fatal-strain-of-cannabis-claims-first-victim-in-california-town/
Again, the report is fake, as was Grellner’s testimony.

According to the Center for Disease Control, there has never been a fatal overdose attributable solely to natural herbal cannabis. What is potentially dangerous is synthetic, labratory-produced THC. According to a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request made by ProCon.org and published bywww.oregon.gov, synthetic Marinol was the cause of death in four cases, nationwide, from January 1, 1997 through June 30, 2005. Natural marijuana, on the other hand, was never a cause of death. Here’s a link to the report:http://www.oregon.gov/Pharmacy/Imports/Marijuana/Public/DeathsFromMarijuanaV17FDAdrugs.pdf

Sgt. Grellner’s crooked testimony isn’t credible. It’s unbelievable, and hard to believe that Missouri legislators value (or even pretend to value) anything he has to say.

The prohibitionists need to be voted out and replaced with politicians who respect personal freedom. I think it’s also important to reverse the trend of electing politicians from law enforcement backgrounds. Former law enforcers such as Rep. Kenneth Wilson (R- Smithville) and Rep. Galen Higdon (R- St. Joseph) are big-government intrusionists who get their jollies from busting heads and stepping on toes. Such types are overrepresented in the lawmaking business and wield their political billy clubs accordingly, and it stands to reason that people whose careers have been based on demanding obedience don’t suddenly switch to freedom values when they take office. Want more freedom? Crush the cops in the primaries! If that doesn’t work, crush them in the general election!
