montana medical marijuana tom daubertChris Williams was found guilty on all counts related to his work at a state-licensed medical marijuana caregiver organization, which was the subject of a federal raid in March of 2011. The verdict was reached by the jury shortly after 5:00 p.m. today and Mr. Williams was taken into custody by law enforcement officers. Chris faces mandatory minimum sentences which run into decades, and could be as high as 85 to 90 years. Maximum sentences run for several lifetimes.

“It’s a tragedy,” said Chris Lindsey, president of the MTCIA, and former partner of Chris Williams in 2009. “Federal law needs to change and respect the wishes of the citizens, who overwhelmingly favor the availability of medical marijuana for those in need. Federal law makes no allowance for it, and Mr. Williams will pay a heavy price for the government’s refusal to bend to the will of voters in Montana and around the country.”

Mr. Williams will remain in custody until he is sentenced. A sentencing hearing has not yet been set by the court, but is likely to take place in approximately 90 days.

“It is sad that Chris was tried for what he did and for what he believed in, but he couldn’t actually talk about what happened with the jury,” said Lindsey. “They didn’t get the whole story because of the way criminal trials are run. Chris and his attorney did the best they could to get their story in front of the jury, but the system does not allow it.”

About Jay Smoker

I have been smoking marijuana for almost twenty years and I have no plans to stop anytime soon. My life was turned upside down in 2009 after getting arrested and tossed in jail for being in the wrong state with legal medical marijuana. I got fed up, and I now devote all my time to ending this insanity.I am responsible for the technical side of this project, but try to chip in when I can, either with syndicated articles or original content.Follow me on Facebook and Twitter.Feel free to email. any questions or concerns. Peace!

More incredibly tragic proof the ONLY way medical marijuana patients will be free ( and everyone) is to end ALL of the monstrously destructive fraud of marijuana prohibition.

Vote YES on all re-legalization initiatives!

Wow I do not live in a free country after all do I. My state has more registered sex offenders living on the streets of EVERY small home town in it than anywhere else in the country i”m sure and almost NONE have ever served TIME. Meth use is completely out of control and legal pill junkies smoke pills in pipes and mainline them. There are 2o-somethings out there with 5 kids they can’t take care of. Criminal behaviors are embraced these days due to prohibition and then advertised on the news programs that talk about what’s going on in the world. It is absolutely shameful to be an American these days. God gave us the Green to heal ourselves with. The government is completely out of our control and completely out of their minds. Courts were invented to keep checks and balances on government but that doesn’t work if the courts aren’t run by THE PEOPLE either. What a horrible injustice in a crooked world. I am truly appalled with the state of things in our good ole USA.

What makes idiots of all Americans is your dumb attitude in the face of consistent, anti-democratic, anti-person abuses-of-power by federal staff using Americans’ hard earned tax dollars like it grew on trees. Really, how stupid are you guys? I’m not an American citizen; thank be to God, but I retain my interest as an observer.

Jay Smoker you need to contact Paul Andrew Mitchell, private attorney general out of Seatle if you want Chris Williams to ever see the light of day. Chris was sold out by the barflys.
