THE SCIENCE OF MEDICAL CANNABIS
Friday February 22, 2013 (Outreach)

The first day of the conference will be dedicated to the presentation of scientific research on the medical efficacy of cannabis. ASA is soliciting abstracts now for work on case reports, clinical studies, safety and drug abuse issues, implementation, basic scientific research, policy analysis, and related topics in the field of cannabis and cannabinoids. A scientific panel consisting of Dr. Jahan Marku, Dr. Sunil Aggarwal, Dr. Michelle Sexton, and Dr. Donald Abrams will be reviewing submissions for scientific merit and validity as well as selecting researchers to present their work at the conference. Throughout the weekend there will be a poster exhibition where researchers can showcase their work. ASA will also be inviting members of the Administration, local officials, and members of Congress to join us this day free of charge to learn and engage with our community.

HARNESSING OUR POWER FOR VICTORY
Saturday-Sunday, February 23-24 (Movement Building & Development)

For these two days, ASA will bring together the various stakeholders in the medical cannabis movement. These stakeholders include Patients, Doctors, Labor, Industry, Drug Policy Reform, Environmentalists, Public Health Organizations, and Veterans. The intention of these days is to facilitate strategic planning and skill building. The panels will include presentations from various stakeholders and members of Congress, highlighting our movement’s history and what to consider when moving forward. The workshops will consist of coalition building, grassroots fundraising, speaking to the media, citizen lobbying, strategic planning, and more.

It is our goal for these days for the stakeholders in the cannabis movement to meet their fellow advocates, understand the perspectives of the various stakeholders, and to leave the conference with a plan for the next two years—and the skills to accomplish them.

We will also be hosting a dinner and awards ceremony this night to award the best poster exhibits as well as to honor the best medical cannabis activists.

LOBBY DAY
Monday, February 25 (Outreach)

ASA supporters will engage members of Congress directly through face-to-face meetings their federal representatives and staff. This will be the largest lobby day in history on medical cannabis issues.
