Pittsburgh NORML To Host Fundraiser For US Senate Candidate
When: Sept. 30, 2015, from 5p – 7p
Where: Luke Wholey’s Wild Alaskan Grille, 2106 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Pittsburgh NORML, a local chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws will be hosting a fundraiser for John Fetterman for United States Senate.
John Fetterman is the Mayor of Braddock, PA, a former steel town that has struggled since the collapse of the steel industry. He has worked tirelessly to help his community rebound despite the myriad challenges posed by economic decline, poverty and narcotics trafficking.
Mr. Fetterman was recently quoted in the Washington Post saying:
“I’m also very pro-legalization of marijuana. I also think we as a country need to have a conversation about the legalization of other drugs. I’ve been mayor of a town that’s had a lot of economic upheaval, and I’ve seen this: the war on drugs is a failure. If you’re taking drugs, you’re doing it to numb some pain in your life. It’s a medical issue.”
Washington Post 9.15.15 “Meet the 6’8″ Rust Belt mayor who wants to become a senator”
Pittsburgh NORML shares Mayor Fetterman’s position on cannabis and we believe he is the best candidate on issues of drug reform and criminal justice. Please join us on Wednesday to hear John’s vision for the future of this great nation of ours!
