Minnesota has one of the most restrictive medical marijuana programs in the country. For starters, patients are not allowed to smoke medical marijuana – they can only eat it or vaporize it. Also, Minnesota does not allow home cultivation. Only two entities are allowed to grow medical marijuana in Minnesota. Minnesota has one of the smallest lists of qualifying conditions to become a medical marijuana patient out of states that have legalized medical marijuana. Below is the current list of qualifying conditions, per the Minnesota Department of Health:

  • Cancer associated with severe/chronic pain, nausea
or severe vomiting, or cachexia or severe wasting.
  • Glaucoma.
  • HIV/AIDS.
  • Tourette Syndrome.
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
  • Seizures, including those characteristic of Epilepsy.
  • Severe and persistent muscle spasms, including
    those characteristic of Multiple Sclerosis.
  • Crohn’s Disease.
  • Terminal illness, with a probable life expectancy of less
    than one year*

There was a recent push to add intractable pain to the list of qualifying conditions to become a medical marijuana patient in Minnesota. A public hearing was held on November 10th. The first vote by the Advisory Panel as to whether or not to add it resulted in a 5-2 vote in favor of adding the condition. Unfortunately on the second vote, the recommendation failed to pass by a 3-5 vote (see the Advisory Panel official report at this link here).

A recent poll was conducted, which asked, ‘Do you think the State of Minnesota should or should not expand the medical marijuana law to make more people eligible to use marijuana for medical purposes?’ 67% of poll respondents stated that Minnesota should indeed expand the program. Only 26% of respondents said that Minnesota should maintain the status quo. 7% of respondents were unsure. Minnesota officials need to listen to the people. There are people suffering all over Minnesota, and they deserve safe access to medicine that will help them if they choose to use it.

What they need to do is completely legalize Cannabis.

The police need to be chasing Islamic Terrorists….not pot smokers.

Islamic terrorists? They’re simply a “network of thugs, wreaking havoc on local populations”! THAT’S as far as President Obama would GO in describing them yesterday! He didn’t even say “ISLAMIC THUGS”. They’re just a “network of thugs”!

He even told THEM, (in his press conference) while answering a question… “they’re NOT really Muslim”! Now, I hate to point this out, Mr President, but the word ISLAMIC is in their name!

Maybe it’s jus ME, but if they’re doing ALL of this in the name of ALLAH! Yell “ALLUAH AHKBAR”, while blowing themselves up, or cutting someone’s head off? I’d say it’s a DAMNED good chance they’re ISLAMIC! He keeps telling us HOW “peaceful a religion Islam is”, etc… I KNOW the answer to this already, but… Have you ever READ the Quran, Mr President? It’s the most VIOLENT religion in the world!

You also watch! He’s trying to soften them to the people by giving them their very OWN, NEW acronym. He won’t even refer to them as what THEY refer to themselves as. They call themselves “Islamic State of Iraq & Syria”! HE calls them ISIL. “Islamic State of Iraq & the Levant”.

NOW, as of yesterday, he’s added the word DAESH after ISIL! Why? Supposedly because that WORD, “Daesh”, (which means “militant” in Arabic) pisses them off!

Now THAT’S a strategy! PLEASE tell me, the depth of your strategy for dealing with ISIS, isn’t to just call them a name that PISSES them off, is it?

Ok, ? rant! Back to the topic! But you started it PeedNUrGenePool… ??? j/k

More expansion can’t hurt. Continued awareness of the safety and efficacy of this medicine can only bring about eventual recreational legalization.

Johnny Green: What “recent poll was conducted”? The stats are meaningless without having access to them and any report submitted as a companion piece to the poll. Where’s the “click here” for the poll page or information? I want to take the poll numbers seriously but I can’t without responsible reporting.
