Poll: Seventy Four Percent Say ‘Yes’ To Medical Marijuana In Florida

Florida medical marijuanaAll eyes are on Florida, where a medical marijuana initiative has made the ballot. Florida is a very significant state in the battle for safe access. If/when Florida voters approved Proposition 2 in November, Florida will become the first Southern state to legalize medical marijuana. Florida has a lot of reach beyond it’s borders too, as many seniors spend their winters there, many people have family there, and it’s also a hot travel destination for many people. A lot of influential people live in Florida, and I’m confident that once they see how well medical marijuana works, they will do more to make medical marijuana a reality nationwide.

According to a new poll released by the University of North Florida, “Seventy-four percent of registered voters polled responded that they would vote “yes” for Proposition 2, allowing the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician.”

The official question that was asked in the poll was, “Proposition 2 on the statewide ballot in the fall of 2014 is called “Use of Marijuana for Certain Medical Conditions.” This amendment allows the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician. If the election were held today, would you vote Yes or No for this proposition?” 74% said ‘yes’, only 22% said ‘no’, and 4% were undecided.

Compare those numbers to the response given when the same people were asked if they support full legalization. 57% said that they would oppose such reform, while only 41% said that they would support legalization. Florida might not be ready to legalize recreational marijuana, but Florida is certainly ready for medical marijuana. I’m confident that after the sky stays in place after medical marijuana legalization, people will jump on board with legalization.

Problem is the State officials see Charlotte’s web CBD with less than .05 THC to be the cure all medical marijuana. All other marijuana with higher than .05 THC is considered recreational marijuana. The voters get fooled again. Maybe better to just call this CBD .05 THC Florida’s medical marijuana. Their will be a lot of mad people if this vote passes into law and those needing medical marijuana spend $400.00 per ounce to find a Florida ounce is 20 grams and has no medical effect except for the 93 children with rare strain of epilepsy., not the common epilepsy.

Don’t confuse the Amendment with the legislation being considered by Fla lawmakers. The lawmakers version would be virtually no THC … Charlotte web stuff. The Amendment that ALL voters can vote on is wide open
for all types of medical cannabis. So just make sure to vote in November for the Amendment EVEN if Florida legislators pass thier medical marijuana bills… They are totally different !

Really?, Not according to this doctor from CCI school. They had this doctor on T.V. promoting CCI school here in Florida this past weekend saying CBD charlottes web .05% is medical marijuana and all other marijuana is recreational marijuana. I know the people get to vote this November elections but are they voting on SB 962, SB 1030, SB 1562, HB 1039 or any of the other bills being presented. All we know for sure is that this medical marijuana is approved and will be on the ballot this November. Well maybe, it’s been shot down before. Don’t worry about me, don’t need anyone telling me what or what not to vote for, old school here.

        • It didn’t get shot down, its gonna be on the ballot, and if people go out and vote, it will pass… There’s only 4% undecided it still not enough to sway those voters into making this initiative lose.
