cannabis business summit and expoThe marijuana industry is growing faster than any other industry in America. Projections have been coming out a lot lately as to how big the industry will get in the future, and the numbers are massive. However, I’m always quick to point out to people that just because the industry is growing right now, and just because there is a ton of untapped potential, doesn’t mean that any of it is guaranteed. The marijuana industry is in a very fragile state right now. Just as the 2016 election could catapult the cannabis industry even further into the stratosphere with more victories, so too can the industry take steps backwards in the near future if the cannabis industry doesn’t unite behind one collective voice to ensure that the concerns of the cannabis industry are heard and addressed by elected officials.

That’s why I support the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA). NCIA is the leading national advocacy organization for the emerging cannabis industry. No other industry organization puts in as much time hitting the halls of Congress and pushing for sensible regulation reforms. Banking access, 280e reform, and many other things need to be realized if the cannabis industry is to ever reach its full potential. If you are in the cannabis industry, chances are you are aware of the issues that are caused by the lack of banking access and harsh tax laws that govern the cannabis industry, especially since it’s right around tax time.

NCIA is putting on the Cannabis Business Summit in Oakland, California June 20-22. Thousands of people will be in attendance, hopefully including myself if I can get the time off of work and make the trek from Oregon, and I hope to see as many of your smiling faces there as possible. There is already a laundry list of world class, expert speakers with more being added all the time. There will be amazing exhibitors and lots of educational opportunities to learn. If you are in the cannabis industry, you should always be eager to learn more because let’s face it – this industry is very complex, evolving constantly, and no one knows everything about everything.

Right now there is a very big discount in place. The retail price of admission is $695. The early bird price is $595. However, NCIA is offering registration for just $345 until the end of tomorrow. This ‘Super Early Bird’ pricing is only being offered for a limited time, so if you are planning on attending the event now is the time to swoop those tickets. There are a lot of events out there these days, some being much better than others. This is absolutely one of the best ones around, and since there is such a heavy advocacy/activism focus, I feel comfortable saying it’s the most important cannabis industry event of the year. We are in the midst of some serious times with a lot in the air and a lot at stake. Now is the time to organize, learn, and get behind one voice so that we can push for reform on the national level and ensure that the industry keeps moving forward, and doesn’t take steps backwards.

There’s a brochure that you can download for the Cannabis Business Summit by going to this link here and signing up for it. There’s a ton of great info in there and it’s obviously free. You can also find out more about the event, and register, at this link here. To be clear – this is in no way a sponsored post. This event is very important, and I hope to see as many people there as possible!
