Senator Cory Booker has been a very vocal supporter of marijuana reform, and for reform of drug laws in general. He realizes that the war on drugs has failed, and has expressed so publicly many times. Earlier this week he gave a very passionate speech in support of Washington D.C.’s vote to legalize marijuana during the 2014 Election. Members of Congress are trying to undermine the will of D.C. voters by including language in a spending bill that could potentially harm implementation of D.C.’s marijuana legalization initiative.
