Solid Gold Ancient Marijuana Bongs Discovered In Russia
If you have consumed marijuana long enough, chances are you own a bong. It’s also quite likely that you cherish it, and may have even given it a name. You brag to your friends about how much cooler your bong is than theirs, and you probably have your own smoking ritual or two. I know I do. Last week a news story broke out of Russia that might involve the coolest bongs ever used. Apparently, two bongs made out of solid gold were found when crews were doing construction. The bongs were used by royals for consuming cannabis and opium. Per Express:
The two bongs were used for smoking cannabis and opium, tests have confirmed, and were found with a number of other solid gold items weighing a combined total of 7Ibs hidden under clay in Russia where power lines were being put up.
They also found three gold cups, a heavy gold finger ring, two neck rings, and a gold bracelet.
A thick black residue found inside the two vase-shaped vessels was tested by criminologists who confirmed traces of the two drugs were found.
Historians believe they were used for drug rituals by the Scythians, a ferocious nomadic race, who ruled the grasslands of Eurasia for 1,000 years, and that they confirm the practices first reported by ancient Greek historian Herodotus who died in 425BC.
Those have to be the most valuable bongs on earth right now. They are more like bowls that were used for creating a vapor, but I don’t think we need to split hairs considering it’s 2,400 year old technology. If I were mega rich, I’d love to have something like that in my collection. Now I will look at my bong with disappointment, as if it’s my bongs fault that it’s not made of solid gold, and instead of it being 2,400 years old it’s maybe ten at best. Stoner problems.
