Ending Marijuana Prohibition

Support The Parents 4 Pot POW And Cannabis Community Holiday Drive

parents for pot holiday driveOne thing that I love about the cannabis community is that there are so many thoughtful, compassionate members of the community. Tis the season for giving, and we shouldn’t forget those from the cannabis movement that are locked up and/or are in great need. Below is information for a holiday drive, please consider participating:

It is that time of year again and we are excited to be able to help more families realize an amazing holiday with your help! We are expanding our reach this year and helping over 30 families. We are asking for the cannabis community to dig deep and help us make the holidaze special for these cannabis families in need. We have kids whose parents are serving time for cannabis, families who have had to uproot and move to access cannabis medicines, and cannabis community families who have come on hard times that are included in this year’s holiday drive.

We love to make a difference in the lives of those in our community. No one knows first hand how terrible this war is than the families of those who are struggling to make ends meet in their role as an activist, medical refugee, or those serving time for cannabis. We are organizing Amazon.com Wish Lists for each POW’s family. We hope you will chip in a few bucks to send a gift to a kid whose family is paying the ultimate price from the drug war.

There are gifts of all shapes and sizes. Feel free to choose some gifts that are within your budget, or you can donate directly to the P4P Holiday Drive by PayPal. Send your donation to parents4pot@gmail.com with “Holiday Drive” in the memo/notes section. We will select presents for families on the list for you.

We appreciate the support and are consistently overwhelmed by the generosity of this community. Together we can ensure our community stays strong and that those less fortunate have a wonderful holiday despite life’s many challenges. Feel free to contact us directly with any questions you may have, and again… THANK YOU!

I heard studies that say marijuana causes brain damage. This isnt reefer madness from 80 years ago. These are recent studies. Marijuana is also linked to reductions in IQ, psychosis and schizophrenia. Every major medical organization opposes marijuana for a reason. I suggest everyone listen to qualified reputable scientists.

Federal and state lawmakers, aided by spineless professionals in national and local media, have bludgeoned Americans with such “marihuana” falsehoods for 80 years. Anyone who still supports the tyrannical imposition of “marihuana” prohibition upon our communities is clearly damaging their own brain. Cannabis is a f#%@ing PLANT, skoallio, that has been essential to human agriculture and consumption for at least 2,000 years. Cannabis hemp was a vital crop by the founding of our republic, and George Washington even left documentation about the process of separating plants to yield seedless female flowers (what you ignorantly call “marijuana”). We must let all types of cannabis grow freely once again. By tomorrow.

I use consume it too, but saying it’s “just a plant” doesn’t automatically make it safe for everyone.
For instance, consuming enough apple seeds can kill you, oleander is incredibly toxic yet common in many backyards, hemlock is deadly when consumed, angel’s trumpet is a beautiful plant that’s very deadly if consumed, and there are many other fairly common ones that are potentially lethal.
The point is marijuana isn’t “guaranteed safe” for everyone and continuing to insist that it is won’t help progress it’s legalization, just common sense and logical and scientifically supportable dialogue.

I hear you, Denny, but dialogues on The Weed Blog are not about apple seeds, oleander, hemlock, angel’s trumpet, etc. They are about cannabis plants, or the federal, state and local tyranny being waged against them–nothing else. Cannabis is SO safe for human consumption that our bodies–through widespread cultivation during the normal course of evolution–are hard-wired with a fascinating “endocannabinoid system.” Name another plant species on Earth that conforms to such a scientific fact.

And according to the World Health Organization, bacon causes cancer. When I think about it, this study is consistent with common sense that such a salted and fatty product I love to consume has consequences. But I do appreciate having the latest accurate information to make an informed decision. I will continue to eat bacon because of it’s benefits as a good source of protien and to exercise my freedom to eat bacon, but I will do so in a more informed and enlightened moderation with more vegetables.

I also don’t think we should make eating bacon a crime that disproportionately locks up minorities in an expensive and inevitably failed attempt to make all American’s “safe” from the ill effects of bacon.

      • Denny

Why are minorities automatically mentioned when discussing almost any topic on this site? It makes no sense and actually turns people off.

And on day the World Health Organization is the save all option, and now it being ridiculed.
There’s no credible consistency found here and this further alienates people.
