‘The Cannabis Manifesto’ By Steve DeAngelo To Be Released On September 22

cannabis manifesto steve deangeloI was forwarded an advanced copy of The Cannabis Manifesto: A New Paradigm For Wellness by Steve DeAngelo earlier this month. I have been reading it off and on for about a week now as time will allow, and it’s fantastic. I can’t wait until everyone else gets their copy. I was blown away to see my name on the first page, quoted on the same page as one of my personal heroes, Ethan Nadelmann of the Drug Policy Alliance. The book has some amazing first hand stories from the front lines of activism over the course of four decades, told in a way that only Steve DeAngelo could tell them.

Below is more information about the book, via its Amazon listing page:

The Cannabis Manifesto is both a call to action and a radical vision of humans’ relationship with this healing but controversial plant. Steve DeAngelo, the founder of Harborside Health Center, the world’s largest medical-cannabis dispensary, presents a compelling case for cannabis as a wellness catalyst that must be legalized. His view that there is no such thing as recreational cannabis use challenges readers to rethink everything they thought they knew about marijuana.

The Cannabis Manifesto answers essential questions about the plant, using extensive research to fuel a thoughtful discussion about cannabis science and law, as well as its biological, mental, and spiritual effects on human beings. With a cultural critic’s eye peering through the lens of social justice, DeAngelo explains how cannabis prohibition has warped our most precious institutions—from the family, to the workplace, to the doctor’s office and the courtroom. In calling for a realistic national policy on a substance that has been used by half of all Americans, this essential primer will forever change the way the world thinks about cannabis, its benefits, and the laws governing its use.

Steve DeAngelo has released the first of three mini-documentaries leading up to the release of his book. The first video is about Steve DeAngelo’s untold story. To read a review about the video, check out an article I wrote yesterday. You can watch the video by click on this link, and signing up to receive updates about future videos and information about the release of Steve’s new book. I will have a full book review coming soon. FYI the video is about 13 minutes long, and is very entertaining.

Interesting…all that work, and he wouldn’t do it unless it was predicated with THC

I wonder if this work would have ever been done if THC didn’t get people high or didn’t exist.

Our ideas about life in general are warped…not just getting high on THC

Religion is super common all over the world with humans. duh

“No such thing as recreational cannabis”– interesting how the jargon masquerading as science has stuck to the word “recreational”, pronounced to rhyme like “wreck-creational”– well, alcohol’s the drug for that, right?

    Two other, more interesting -al’s:

INSPIRATIONAL: helps alert or prompt you to notice something you maybe hadn’t been noticing before, enthuses and energizes you to assume it’s worth noticing and give it a try.

occupational: some of us inventors use herb to co-generate the new ideas which may someday turn around climate warming, save millions of lives etc.
