“This important report offers a roadmap for the future of the cannabis industry in California and nationwide. The Lieutenant Governor has been a leader in advocating for greater regulation, and recognizes the need for improved controls and workforce training before voters approve recreational cannabis in 2016, as poll show they are likely to do.

“The Commission recognizes that a well-trained and protected workforce will aid tax collection, help ensure product safety, fight youth access and diversion to the black market, and prevent unethical dispensary operators from gaining an unfair advantage.”

The UFCW is the only union representing cannabis workers in California, with 1,200 workers already under contract.

    “Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom”

Should read, “Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom (D)”

who will really control the cannabis industry: the union. love to see the workplace rules. e.g. you can put weed in the package but someone else can only roll the joint, yet another person must be certified to explain edibles.
