Vote No On Question 3, Medical Marijuana, Says Senator Keenan

I came across the following video and message when I was on YouTube today. The same things were said in Oregon in 1998 before we passed the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act, and guess what, the sky is still in tact! I encourage all readers to leave comments on the video, as well as contact Senator Keenan to tell him how you feel about his illogical stance on medical marijuana:

Vote No On Question 3, medical marijuana in Massachusetts, urges Senator John Keenan, Co-Chair, Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse. The law proposed under ballot Question 3 is “vague, ambiguous and wide open for exploitation.” There would be too few safeguards to keep the drugs away from our youth.

    Mr keenan thinks we need all this regulation nonsense but we just need our medicine and be left alone .maniacal crusaders like him have no business holding any public office.i reccomend he be booted out and replaced with a human being. your wonderful state deserves better

    Dear Senator Keenan, I have 2 friends in dire need of cannabis in Massachusetts.
    Judy is a cancer patient in stage 4 and Mike has multiple sclerosis. Shame on you for your lack of compassion and your obviously uninformed position on the medicinal uses of cannabis. I am a registered patient in Vermont. Cannabis use has given me relief from chronic pain and keeps my glaucoma from progressing. I have experienced immediate relief from extreme nausea,( after having narcotics administered to me during abdominal surgery), by taking three puffs of cannabis. I have witnessed a cancer patient regain a lost appetite after smoking cannabis. The human body has receptors for cannabinoids found in cannabis. You cannot overdose on cannabis. Your liver and kidney’s are not damaged by cannabis like the narcotics that I am prescribed and do not take. This much maligned plant has been misclassified for over 75 years. It has been proved to be medicinal for hundreds if not thousands of years.
    I choose to use a non narcotic non alcohol based and non tobacco based herb that grows in nature. Sorry BIG PHARMA, no more pills for me!

    Thanks for this alert. But, for the record, John Keenan is a state Representative, not a state Senator. Meaning, he is a member of the Mass. House of Representatives, and not the Mass. Senate.
