Wisconsin County Votes In Favor Of Legalizing Marijuana
Voters in Dane County, Wisconsin have approved an advisory referendum which urges the state to legalize recreational cannabis. The referendum was approved with 64.5% of the vote.
Dane County, which has a population of roughly half a million, is the second-most populous county in Wisconsin.
A poll released last year by Marquette University Law School found that 50% of those in Wisconsin support the legalization of cannabis, with just 44% opposed.
Earlier this month a proposal to legalize cannabis was filed in the Wisconsin Legislature; 7 lawmakers in total have signed on as sponsors for the measure.
