Grass – The History Of Marijuana (Narrated By Woody Harrelson)

This film explores the history of the American government’s official policy on marijuana in the 20th century. Rising with xenophobia with Mexican immigration and their taste for smoking marijuana, we see the establishment of a wrong headed federal drug policy as a crime issue as opposed to a public health approach. Fueled by prejudice, hysterical propaganda and political opportunism undeterred by voices of reason on the subject, we follow the story of a costly and futile crusade against a substance with debatable ill effects that has damaged basic civil liberties.

  1. Its been so long since I last saw this, it may be worth another look. It is one of the best documentaries out there.

May I aslo suggest going to the library, and checking out some books on the subject. Be seen reading those books, have a little skin in the game.

  4. Just hit the 49 min mark and see that some of the talking points we hear today are fairly close to what they were saying 50 years ago. Wow!

  5. Will you send me a tin joint by mailing? I would love to receive. I can exchange a tin cigarrette for tropical seeds. I have successfully sent soursop seeds to New Orleans by employing a stealth technique I myself created. If you are interested, send me a private message. Thanks.

I feel that anything that takes away resources from bigger issues, education, hunger, poverty is huge waste of Tax Payers money. “$214billion” used on the war against Marijuana from 1980-1998, that is astonishing! People loose there homes, go hungry and yet the government continues to throw money at army of police, agents to fight against a nature herb, that has countless benefits! We must make a change. The people have spoken. thank you for the post.
