How Did Marijuana Become Illegal In The First Place?

It always surprises me how many people out there don’t know how marijuana became illegal in the first place. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is opposed to marijuana reform simply and only because it’s currently illegal at the federal level. I have always hated that logic. There have been a lot of things in American history that have been perfectly legal or prohibited, yet in no way should those things have had those legal statuses.

Allowing women and minorities to vote was illegal for a long time in America. Slavery was legal. Should either of those public policies have had the legal status they did? Of course not, which is why those laws were reformed. So too should marijuana laws be reformed. Marijuana prohibition is unjust, illogical, and was created out of racist fears and greedy intentions. I came across a video this week that sums up how marijuana became illegal in the first place in America, in just 94 seconds. If you know someone that should see a video like this, make sure to share it with them:

You do realize that Thomas Aquina did prove that God existed by using Aristotle’s works. Aristotle was a Greek and at that time the Greeks were Polytheist, meaning they believed in more than one God. This made them Pagan. So Thomas Aquina used a Pagan to prove that God was real. He also proved that every other God out there was real as well.

The government does whatever they want! God doesn’t need to give them permission. God does not control what we do in this word, it is up to us to work that out

Huge run on sentence. I have no idea what you’re saying

That’s not really the case they banned marijuana use in the 1900s to control the Mexican immigrants after Mexican Revolution then they legalized it because people claimed that African Americans became sexually abusive and violent towards white women became a way for them to control the population of immigrants and Americans

Go to this site it explains everything it wasn’t just all about money or taxation

Why wouldn’t God allow the pagan festival of Christmas to be banned? It has nothing to do with Christ. Unless your God is capitalism, which then you are correct Christmas will never be banned and there are plenty of reasons to “allow” the prohibition of weed

You say that he wouldn’t allow rules to forbid wine but please explain to me the prohibition time period, where NO ALCOHOL was allowed. LMAO this is why im atheist.

God gave man free will. If god was against it why did he make it, and gods version of wine is just grape juice, not what we have today. If god didnt want us to drink and drive, why did he make fossil fuels. The god stoy is a big loop hole. Also, if god wrote the bible through man, why didn’t he tell us the world was round?

I know exactly how it became illegal. I have public court documents showing it. Its quite shocking & basically happened so the FBI could get more $$$

For all of you appealing to a “god” for your “reasoning”, realize this: god is imaginary and holds no sway with folks that have more than two brain cells to rub together.

If you think Idaho is “starting to change”, you obviously don’t live there!
