What is Maui Wowie?

Hailing from the gorgeous island paradise of the same name, the Maui Wowie marijuana strain is best known for its tropical pineapple flavors and, contrary to some beliefs, high energy inspiration. It isn’t overpowering, leaving the user in firm control of their faculties, but you’ll find yourself zooming around the place, doing chores and getting things done you hadn’t dreamt of accomplishing prior.

Maui Wowie’s terpenes are primarily Myrcene and Alpha Pinene, the former being well known as an anti-inflammatory and the latter having various antibiotic effects across a broad spectrum. Maui’s THC content tends to hover around 15%, some a little higher, some a little bit lower. It’s an old strain, dating back to the 1970s, when due to the difficulties of distribution it was quite expensive and difficult to get a hold of.

Appearance wise, it’s a real looker. It’s got an earthy green leaf, covered with gorgeous orange hairs that are beautiful to behold. It’s come such a long way, there’s no surprise that it’s dressed to impress!

Here’s a fun fact: lots of strains are famous, but relatively few were introduced to the world via the silver screen! Maui Wowie actually became well known thanks to its brief moment of feature stardom in Cheech and Chong’s stoner classic, Up in Smoke. That should grab you a few points, come marijuana trivia night!

You can also expect your mood to brighten significantly when you ingest this strain. All in all, an extraordinary experience that just makes your day better and makes you feel like the tropical sun is shining down on your life!

The Maui Wowie strain has unique physical characteristics and medicinal benefits.

Is Maui Wowie Strong?

Lighter than, say, Blueberry Kush, Maui Wowie is a medium strength strain. It is enough to get you moving and to let you feel a real high, but by no means is it overpowering or domineering. The flavor is juicy and with a significant hint of citrus, unsurprising given its pineapple background. The perfect toke to start your day if you love the flavor of pineapple!

How Does Maui Wowie Make You Feel?

Maui Wowie is a moderate strain that fills you with energy to face the day. The tropical, pineapple scented hit will get you going, as well as helping to fight depression and occasional nausea.

As a side note, many people have noticed that the energy gifted by Maui Wowie tends to relieve their anxiety, giving them a certain relaxed, worry free focus that acts a blessed sink for their daily cares.

Is Maui Wowie a Sativa or Indica?

Maui Wowie is an old school sativa, which means it has some extremely thin leaves and takes an overall lengthier time to flower in comparison to its indica cousins. The plant tends to stand taller, too. Like many sativas, its high tends to be energizing rather than relaxing.
