The Michigan chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, MINORML, has commissioned a poll on the subject of marijuana legalization in Michigan.
The poll will be conducted by respected pollster Bernie Porn of Epic-MRA and will be confined to Michigan residents.
MILegalize, the most successful grassroots organization attempting to put adult use of marijuana on the November ballot, is close to completing their petition drive. Several pieces of legislation have been introduced in Michigan’s legislature to enact differing marijuana legalization or decriminalization proposals.
A poll on the acceptance of marijuana legalization could have a major impact on the progress of these efforts, said MINORML Board Member Brad Forrester. “Michigan NORML has a history of doing cannabis-related polls. We are at a critical time in marijuana law reform and polling is a very important way for the people to have their voices heard.”
Two other petition drives seeking the legalization of marijuana are approved and have been collecting signatures in Michigan; one is defunct and the other was just launched in January.
“I am optimistic that the results will show that people support legalization,” said MILegalize Director Jamie Lowell, “and our MILegalize proposal, too.”

MINORML has commissioned a poll regarding voter support for MILegalize.
The poll will cost us $1,100 and the results will be available within a couple of weeks.
Instead of having to expend our limited resources, MINORML is asking our members and friends to help fund this poll.
