Mitt Romney’s Marijuana Policy Report Card

Mitt Romney Marijuana PolicyMitt Romney’s Stance On Marijuana

It’s that magical time again with the next election cycle ramping up. As always, I will be harassing candidates and muckracking in the name of marijuana as I always do. I can’t help myself, it’s just too much fun and a lot of these bastards need to be called out. After all, politicians could pass sensible legislation, but instead they just do what lines their pockets and gets them re-elected. My first analysis of 2012 candidates will be of Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has been the most consistent frontrunner so far on the GOP side for the race to the White House, and looks poised to make a better showing than he did in 2008. He is the former Governor of Massachusetts, which from what I hear is a pretty liberal place. But then again he is also Mormon, which are some of the most uptight people out there. Here are the words out of his own mouth:

Mitt Romney’s Marijuana Report Card: F-

It doesn’t just seem like Romney is against marijuana; it’s almost like Mitt despises marijuana. In the last video he said he would fight it tooth and nail. The way he shunned that medical marijuana patient is heartless. I thought this guy claimed to be a believer in compassion. I guess not. If you are a marijuana consumer or medical marijuana patient, this guy is out to get you, much like Rick Santorum, who I will be covering in the next installment.

  • Romney lost my vote for sure. He has no clue on what he’s talking about. Wonder how we can get Gary Johnson elected.

Mr. Romney: YOUR god put marijuana on this earth. Are you saying your god made a horrible mistake and you, knowing better than HE does, perhaps through a divine revelation of your ‘prophet’ or whatever, intend to correct this error? How arrogant! How convenient for your own Republican Big Business Right Wing christian dominion agenda. Isn’t that speeeciallll? Or, was it put there by….SATAN!?
A gateway drug? I smoked cigarettes and drank alcohol WAY before I used marijuana, and never used anything else. Nor have I ever been arrested.
Prohibition DOES NOT WORK! It does nothing but waste money, cram the courts and prisons, wastes the time of valuable police resources and make criminals out of those of us who are otherwise law abiding citizens. I’ve heard many o drunk christians tell me how rotten I am.
You use terror tactics and deliberate misinformation, just like Henry Anslinger and Joe McCarthy, and not a bit unlike your church uses to proselytize it’s ‘salvation’ message to your sheeple.
It cannot be stopped, but with all my being, I hope that YOU will be.
I smell more bullshit than pot smoke in your campaign.

THEY WOULD RATHER US BE ADDICTED TO PAIN MEDS INSTEAD. GO TO HELL MITT!

  • The end of federal prohibition is right around the corner. We just need your voice and every other person that cares about these civil liberties to speak up. NOW is the time. Tell the federal government to leave the decisions up to the states. They will listen or be replaced.

    RON PAUL!!!!!

  • SKL

    @2:

Mormons are not Christians, nor are they generally dominionist in their theology.

Your perspectives on the drug war are correct, but your grasp theology seems to be a bit weak.

    • Chris Hawkes

Romney is a flip flopping say anything.

Ron Paul is the best choice, not because he wants to free hundreds of thousands of blacks and latinos from the biased drug war, and end prohibition, he will stop our evil intentions in the international community.

Obama has shown his real intentions.

      P.S.
Please don’t get your information about Ron Paul, from the reefer madness mainstream media.

  • can you spell douche bag, let me help R-o-m-n-e-y

  • Two other Republican contenders, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico, also support medical marijuana. But Perry’s is the most prominent voice in the pack to adopt a favorable position on the issue.

“we need less drugs in this country” -romney from first video. Synthetic marijuana? sounds to me like there’s being more human-made drugs made available to the public. scared because marijuana might put a majority of drug companies out of business?

  • Bluesatreds

No national politician except perhaps Paul is willing to support legal marijuana. Paul can’t win no way no how. Politician’s are afraid of stepping on their Dick. It takes a” real person” in the white house to take on that issue and I don’t see any real persons in Washington. Gary Johnson is a far cry from Wash,DC. The REVOLUTION will not  be on the televisions. If they give in “THEY”, and WE who know “WHO THEY” are”, will loose control and “WE” might breath a little easier. We have and will continue to FIGHT the hypocrisy surrounding this country. We are learning how to cure our own illnesses despite ‘BIG PHARM’s’ strangle hold on ‘hooking everyone’ to the red or green pill. Roll another on just like the other one. We can see thru their “SMOKE SCREEN”

  • Please Mr. Romney, would you Flip-Flop on the marijuana issue? I’ll bet you would if you were paid enough to do so.  It is absurd that killing the unborn in this country is legal, but growing industrial hemp is a felony.
