Join us for the Aspen Legal Seminar this June
Dear NORML Supporters,
We are pleased to announce that the details of the program and the registration information for the 2011 NORML Aspen Legal Seminar, scheduled for June 2-4, 2011 at the Gant Hotel in beautiful Aspen, CO, is available on the NORML website:
At this seminar we also permit interested non-lawyers to register and attend.
This legal seminar is approved for CLE credit by all states that require attorneys to obtain continuing legal education credits on an ongoing basis.
Those who have joined us at previous Aspen legal seminars will be pleased to know that we will once again be holding a benefit dinner on Friday evening at the lovely home of Chris and Gerry Goldstein, catered by celebrated Aspen chef Chris Lanter from Cache Cache, a popular Aspen restaurant; and we will be returning to Owl Farm, the legendary home of the late Hunter S. Thompson, on Saturday afternoon for a cookout as the guests of his widow, Anita Thompson.
The legal seminar will consist of three days of lectures from leading criminal defense attorneys covering topics such as DUID: Understanding the Science and DUID: Trial Tactics; jury nullification; sentencing mitigation in a drug case; the religious use of marijuana as a defense; medical marijuana and workers’ rights; ethical issues presented when representing medical marijuana growers and dispensaries; cannabis offenses and family court; ethical considerations of a joint defense agreement; breathing life into the presumption of innocence; the new war on pain medications; and the latest new search and seizure deicsions.

Again, at this seminar we also permit interested non-lawyers to register and attend.
The Gant Hotel has provided NORML with a special block of rooms at a reduced rate ($165 for one bedroom unit; $185 for two bedroom unit). Be sure to mention the ‘NORML legal seminar’ when you call to reserve a room: http://www.gantaspen.com
Please mark your calendar now and plan to join us for what has become an annual event — a lovely long weekend in the Rocky Mountains with like-minded friends and colleagues. Rooms at The Gant, seminar registrations and socials are all limited in space, so don’t procrastinate because this unique event will sell out quickly!
