The Signal Hill Patients Access PAC Strategist, Jason Aula has released a statement regarding the amendment of the municipal ballot measure and the split to two particular ballot measures:

“The medical cannabis policy in regards to delivery and cultivation that the City Council of Signal Hill has chosen to adopt recently represents a staggering misappropriation of community resources. I can actually say the PAC law I drafted is 100 times superior when compared to the rubbish policy the city council is proposing. The PAC is committed to winning and I want to advise the media and public recalls are on the table for any member of the council that defies the empowerment of the people of Signal Hill to access medical cannabis”

“The amended measure was split into two separate ballot measures. One measure includes a fee which requires 66.6% + 1 to approve according to CA prop 26. The second measure which includes the skeleton of the law now only requires 50% +1 to qualify. We amended to squash any local control the five Signal Hill City Council members may allegedly have and empowered thousands of residents to decide the issues not corrupt self-serving politicians.”

“The City Council and City Attorney are incompetent and corrupt. Said parties cannot be trusted simply because of their approval of the ban on cultivation presently which would be illegal. Not only is the council misinformed but they are receiving incorrect and invalid legal advice that will subject the city to civil litigation in the future. It almost appears the city attorney contractor would not mind creating more work since they are contracted and get a monthly retainer plus hourly fees for additional services. The present proposed ban on cultivation violates state law and I am not going to specify exactly what is illegal because the PAC has no desire to tip the council off because the law would just be challenged in court. Signal Hill voters are generally progressive and would surely approve a recall of council members that do not represent their views. A survey is in progress to confirm the PAC’s information that says Signal Hill voters want medical cannabis in the city”

We have no further comment at this time as we are continuing to vigorously campaign and we hope there will be no need to startup recall campaigns for politicians that defy the constitutional right of Californians to access medical cannabis”
