On Thursday, October 4, 2012 please join Medical Cannabis Patients, Americans for Safe Access, the Greater Los Angeles Collective Alliance, the UFCW Local 770 and other allies for a protest in front of the Edward Roybal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles.

Medical Cannabis Patients and their advocacy groups want to let the federal government know that they are unhappy with the escalation in federal pressure in Los Angeles – including renewed raids, confiscating property, and other intimidation.

The lively but peaceful protest will start at 1:30 PM in front of the Federal Building located at 255 East Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

What:  Rally to Protest Cannabis Raids and other Federal Intimidation

When: Thursday, October 4, 2012

Time:   l:30 P.M.

Place:  Edward Roybal Federal Building
255 East Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

To help members of the press understand the issues relating to these raids, we have attached a “Freeze and Review” White Paper written by veteran activist Steve DeAngelo. Mr. DeAngelo founded Harborside Health Center in Oakland, a model cannabis facility which was recently targeted for forfeiture.

The White Paper explains the history of federal intervention. It urges that district level Department of Justice cannabis raids and investigations be frozen until such time as they can be reviewed at the federal level to ensure they are consistent with national policy, rather than reflecting local prejudices. The White Paper also calls for an overall re-examination of federal medical cannabis policy.

INVEST in the full legalization movement with stock symbol MJNA (Medical
Marijuana Inc) — With the most recent polls surging in Washington (37
and 23 point leads) and Colorado (11 point lead), ALL with majority
support, there’s no telling where this will go in November!

A shortcut to getting legalization would be to spend the effort to get Romney and Ryan elected. Obama and Holder will never legalize…at least Romney and Ryan might, according to Paul Ryan. He has said that they believe the issue should be ‘left to the states.’ That is the best shot for Medical Marijuana acceptance and legalization.
Here in California MMJ was made ‘legal’ many years ago, but the Feds have virtually closed it all down and forced patients back underground.
    Baby steps………..people, baby steps.

    • Interesting, yet not a direction we should even consider given how crazy the Rights thoughts are when it comes to average Americans and how their “Money in the hands of a few” thinking will be the death of the American Dream!!! I’d give up Cannabis before voting republican for the sake of the planet.
